Derby based label printers AC Labels have won the coveted award for ‘Best Trade Manufacturer Of The Year’ for the second year running.

The specialist printers of variable barcode labels were again voted Top Trade Manufacturer by members of the Independent Print Industries Association from over 50 potential national candidates. The event was held at Puckrup Hall in Tewkesbury and the award was presented by sponsor Graeme Smith, managing director of the Cyan Group, and actor Shaun Williamson best known for his role as “Barry” in the BBC soap East Enders.

Peter Hartshorn, General Manager, was delighted to receive the coveted again. ‘We were chosen on the criteria of innovation, consistent quality, delivery response and professionalism of internal staff’, he said. ‘This is a real tribute to the hard work and dedication shown by our team, and our determination to remain the printer of choice for manufacturers, retailers, logistics organisations and medical establishments throughout the UK.

‘Something seemingly simple like a barcode can make a huge difference to productivity, allowing a fast throughput, accurate stockholding, traceability and timely delivery for a wide variety of industries and services.

‘Getting it wrong can spell disaster with, for example, patients who have submitted blood samples. We have invested time and money to ensure we get it right – first time, every time. Our customers really appreciate our team’s professionalism, and we are very grateful to them for this special recognition.’

Jason Woodhouse, Business Development Manager, added ‘We work tirelessly to save our customers time and money. The value that we add to their supply chain is something we often struggle to get them to measure – but this is a great reward to us for all the effort we have put in over the past year…and something to spur us on in the future.
